Week 9: Patrick Star

This week:

1. Patrick (13-1 + 3 bonus) - 14 points
2. Jarrett R. (11-3 + 0.75 bonus) - 11.75 points
2. Jonathan (11-3 + 0.75 bonus) - 11.75 points
2. Jarrett M. (11-3 + 0.75 bonus) - 11.75 points
2. Jeremy (11-3 + 0.75 bonus) - 11.75 points
6. Joel (10-4) - 10 points
7. Nathan (9-5) - 9 points
7. Roger (9-5) - 9 points
9. Bob (6-8) - 6 points

"Have I ever not been right?"--Patrick Star

Patrick was the star of week 9, going 13-1 and jumping back into first place. The key victory for the "Sales Wizard" was the Steelers' win over the Giants. (Jarrett R. and Nathan also picked the game correctly.)

Now can Patrick stay in first? So far this season, no one has been able to separate himself from the pack. With a good week 10, either Jeremy or Jarrett M. could take the top spot from Patrick. And if Jarrett R., Jonathan, or Joel put together two solid weeks of picks, it's conceivable one of them could end up in first. Nathan could get there with a run of three outstanding weeks. Roger and Bob? Baby steps.

Week 9 notes: (1) Eli Manning needs to make up his mind about whether he's elite or not. On Sunday he threw for only 125 yards (10 for 24 with 1 interception). (2) Peyton Manning has 2,404 passing yards for the 5-3 Broncos. Andrew Luck has 2,404 passing yards for the 5-3 Colts.  (3) Luck's 433 passing yards on Sunday were the most ever by a rookie QB. (4) Luck is leading the NFL in average pass distance (10.2 yards). Still ready to crown RG3 the offensive ROY?

So far:

1. Patrick (86-46 + 10.33 bonus) - 96.33 points (+1)
2. Jeremy (85-47 + 8.45 bonus) - 93.45 points (-1)
3. Jarrett M. (84-48 + 8.08 bonus) - 92.08 points (-1)
4. Jarrett R. (81-51 + 7.58 bonus) - 88.58 points (no change)
5. Jonathan (82-50 + 6.28 bonus) - 88.28 points (no change)
6. Joel (81-51 + 5.37 bonus) - 86.37 points (no change)
7. Nathan (79-53 + 5.53 bonus) - 84.53 points (no change)
8. Roger (75-57 + 1.83 bonus) - 76.83 points (+1)
9. Bob (72-60 + 3.53 bonus) - 75.53 points (-1)

It's probably time for Joel's political election night comparison on anyone from Joel and down in the standings....to catch first and make up 10 points he would have to hope Obama (or Pat in this case) gets1.25 more picks wrong each week for 8 straight weeks and it doesn't even consider Jarrett, Joel, and Rheaume would also have to do as poor and take no bonus points for Joel and the others to make the winners circle.

And just on Monday Patrick has moved all his assets out of Joel, Jonathan states and moved them into intelligence operations to out pick Jeremy....the state of Jeremy is always involved on decision day - it is important for him to pace or better or tie Jeremy in half of the remaining weeks.

But the wildcard in this is definitely Jarrett M....there is no "intelligence" on his tendencies to exploit that we can find. We had no organization on the ground in either Jarrett states and it may cost bonus points.

When/if Brady ever has the kind of game Manning had, we'll hear how he's over the hill.

You know, Joel hasn't verified who some of the guys in the pool are. For all he knows, they could be fake people used by Team Patrick to manipulate the results. Football Pool fraud!

Eli had an excuse he didn't use - his building was flooded and he lived in a hotel all week and his players were distracted by the strife from Hurricane Sandy....then had to play an emotional game where the Steelers got to watch film with electricity all week...

You know they don't play Steelers as often as they play the Patriots...oh no..oh wait...u got the pick wrong so I guess you didn't know any of this.....u got Eli-lied once again...haha

And you also can't spell "Elite" without the I and T from "Patrick". -

Those excuses shouldn't matter for a professional football player. The Steelers were also out of their usual routine. The Giants gave that game away.

You also can't spell "moron" without the m, o , r, and n in "Morand."

You just got Bradyed.

Ok - you just don't get it..

You got ELI - LIED as in he lied to you and fooled you into picking him...

BRADYED has nothing to do with this...the Pats didn't even play.

As for the Giants they can't win every week. Pittburgh is very good on 3rd down. If you want to be elite you will have to know who to pick in that type of game

You can call me moron if you want but you can't take me out of first place...

Sorry, I missed Eli's call this week. Never talked to him.

You just Roethlisbergered!
