Predictions

It's that time of year again--time for your NFL predictions. Please look into your crystal ball and tell me this season's division champions and wild card teams. Could we award bonus pool points to the person who gets the most right?

UPDATE: Here are Patrick's NFC predictions. And here are his AFC predictions.

Breaking News: Bert Kuehner Retires

Bert Kuehner, the reigning football pool champion, has decided to retire. Here is Bert's official retirement statement:
After considerable thought, I've decided to "hang them up" as a pool participant. It's been a lot of fun and last year's extremely close win (I think it went down to the last game) was exciting. I want to thank all who congratulated me on the year. Bob Herrman wants in again this year, so please see that he gets needed info. Thanks. All the best to all the members.
All the best to you too, Bert. Happy retirement.

The Record Book

Where would I be able to find a record of the past champions of the pool? I have added a new page on this blog called "Past Champions," but it will remain blank until I acquire this information. On a related note, does anyone have suggestions for other pages that could be added to the blog?

UPDATE: I have changed the name of the page to "The Record Book." Right now, it includes the past champions. Later I will add the record holders for a few seasons and career stats.

Questions from Last Season's Football Quiz

In case you were curious, here are the questions from last season's McLeod NFL Playoff Party Football Quiz. All of the questions involved either the Seahawks or the Bears because the quiz was administered during the halftime of the Seahawks/Bears playoff game. Since the previous post, Patrick has been complaining on Twitter about how I handicapped the quiz to benefit John. (See slide 2 of the presentation.) To read more of Patrick's complaints, go to his Twitter page. Here is my reply and John's comeback.

The Undefeated, Undisputed Football Quiz Champion

This year, there were only two participants in the third annual McLeod NFL Playoff Party Football Quiz (otherwise known as the MNFLPPFQ): Patrick Morand and John Couch. The quiz has become a highlight of the McLeod NFL Playoff Party, and for the third year in a row, Patrick Morand took home the coveted winner's certificate (pictured above). Is there anyone who can dethrone the king of the quiz? Perhaps Joel Kuehner, Football Pool commissioner, will fly in from New York next year to challenge Patrick.

Say It Aint' So, Bert!

A semi-reliable source has claimed that current pool champion Bert Kuehner is contemplating retirement. The shocking news comes just 32 days before the start of the upcoming NFL season. Over the next few days, Bert is expected to mull over his options. Will he ride off into the sunset as champion? Or will the lure of back-to-back championships bring him back for another year? Stay tuned.

2010-2011 Champion

It was a dream football season for Bert Kuehner in 2010-2011. Not only did his Green Bay Packers win this year's Super Bowl, but he was also crowned the Football Pool Champion. (Check out the final results.) It was the first pool championship for the elder statesman of the pool.

It is believed that this is the first year that a pool member won the pool in the same year that his favorite team won the Super Bowl. There were reports that Joel Kuehner, son of Bert, was so upset about getting beat by his father that he refused to send out a year-end report.

Here's a reminder of football pool veteran Patrick Morand's Super Bowl prediction.
